I am starting to feel a little bit more normal lately, and may actually post this one. I have written three posts that you will never read. They are very depressing. I had one up on the screen, so Zach read it then came over and gave me a hug and said that was so depressing I am sorry! That guy is my absolute favorite person in the world. He is my best friend and let's me be me and best of all he laughs at me. Like not because I am stupid, but he legitimately thinks I am funny. It is like stand-up hour everyday. I would not choose anyone else to go through this world with, he makes it pretty fun. Poor guy is stuck with me though!
Life was pretty busy for about a month. We were in the car a lot and doing a lot of fun things. In December we had to drive to a town 8 hours away in Germany. We found out Monday at noon that we had to go there and were in the car by one. We got there around 10 at night and the next morning Zach had to go to this appointment. He got back around noon and then we found a Mexican food restaurant and when I say we, I mean Zach did. I wasn't too hopeful because if you aren't in California or Mexico (and Arizona), it just isn't good. I will give this place credit, it was pretty good. I started crying while I was eating because I had missed Mexican food SO much! We decided to take an hour detour on the way home to go to this Christmas Market in Dresden. Oh and we had to be back Tuesday night because Zach had practice Wednesday morning.

We were leaving the hotel and I opened the curtain to see this cute lake outside our room! |
This Christmas market will be the highlight of my whole time here I already know it. It was AMAZING!!!! I went to the Christmas market in Berlin and it doesn't even come close to how awesome the one is Dresden was. It was so cute and they had so many beautiful traditional Christmas decor it was fun. The huts were cute and they had animatronics on top of the huts and cute figures all over. We wanted to remember Christmas there and wanted to get a nutcracker made from Germany. Had we taken more money out of the ATM I would have spent some serious money there. We got out nutcracker and he is the best, I felt so adult buying it. Since I was a little girl I have thought what will distinguish me as an adult and buying a nut cracker would always come to my mind. Honestly, if you go to Germany around Christmas this market is the place to be. It was amazing and we could only spend an hour and a half there. It was not nearly enough time.

My Darling and Bumpa (grandparents) had one of these decorations that I think they got from Germany and it was so cool for me to see this. Theirs was at least 3 x smaller though... |

Chimney cake, you can go on travel channel and see Zach review these in Budapest. |
We were back on the road and it was actually really scary because our windshield wiper fluid wouldn't work and it was wet on the roads so dirt was just flying onto the windshield. We thought we were out of fluid, so we bought more and made sure it worked and were on our way. We were happy campers then it stopped working and it was really dark and getting to be really late. To make matters worse it was also extremely foggy and the highways don't have any street lamps. Zach was very alert and made sure to stay behind cars so he could see. I offered to throw water on the windshield as we were driving. Yeah apparently science doesn't allow that to work out, let's just say I was cold for awhile.

You can kind of tell the difference in clean and dirty windshield. It was much worse though. |
We drove probably 17 plus hours (we were driving pretty slow coming back) in the span of 35 hours. It was super fun though. Zach is a good road trip buddy. I need to write a whole post about this guy sometime because I know he would love the attention and just eat it up. He probably doesn't like how much I have gushed about him already. He really has been my saving grace!
Loved all your pictures. Glad you got to go to the Christmas market. But the driving looks too scary for me. I would not do well there. And just for the record Arizona has some pretty good Mexican food restaurants too.
ReplyDeleteI added Arizona hahaha. See I would credit it, but I don't think I have ever had Mexican food there. We will just have to visit more!
