Diet Coke

When I was younger I hated going grocery shopping with my mom. I would always go super hungry and everything I saw I wanted it. I thought she would learn not to take me, but she just kept taking me. When I went to school I learned to enjoy grocery shopping because it was a very rare occasion that I went. I would always have to wait until one of my roommates was going. I noticed that I would buy the things that my mom would, and if I wanted something my mom wouldn't have bought it then I didn't get it. I felt like I would be in trouble or feel guilty if I got it because I was never allowed to before. Anyway this really has nothing to do with my story.

So I went grocery shopping with my sister because my parents went on a date Saturday night. We were going, and I didn't mind going because ya know I learned to enjoy going to the grocery store. We were checking out, and I felt like it was a great shopping experience, until we walked out. The girl that loaded our cart didn't put the Diet Coke case on the bottom well. We walk out and it(Diet Coke) falls off in the middle of the road, and cars are coming. Caitlin tells me to pick it up, and then it starts spraying everywhere!!! An old man uses some profanity to express how surprised he was. It is spraying everywhere, and I am just trying to play it off like ya we planned this. My friend that works at the grocery store tells me to take it in and get a new one. I walk in, and am trying to not drip it everywhere. The manager lady is like set it right there, you are dripping everywhere. Really?! No way I didn't notice that it was all over my foot, and I was not about to hold this box against my body. They get me a new one, and I walked out with my face down. I now have a new emotion for grocery shopping, embarrassment. Plus I don't even drink Diet Coke! The things I do for my family and their beverages!

  1. What a great experience! It reminds me of the time I sprayed Dr. Pepper all over my computer. Being a Geek, I just wiped it off and kept typing, but the keyboard was wet. My fingers became sticky...as did the keys on the keyboard. It never worked after that...lesson? Don't drop the drink.
